Sea Salt & Soap
Soap is something that we totally take for granted. We all use it from the time we are young and frankly we don’t think too much about it. Yes, soap is easy to come by, but the quality of soap that most of us are using is likely less then desirable. The risk that we run when we use every day soap is two fold. One, there are many chemicals, petroleum products and unnatural scents that are put into the soap. Two there are little to no ingredients that offer anything healthful to our bodies.
When we shower or bathe we open all the pores of the skin allowing for them to be cleaned. Excess oil is washed away and what remains are the toxins from our regular soap left behind to be adsorbed into the skin.
Many of these substances prove not to be toxic in the short run, but let’s face it we are using soap for life. So lets talk about some of the things you can do to give your body the best shot it has going forward.
First is to look for some of the most basic of soaps. The less the ingredients usually better. If you are looking for soap that also nourishes your skin you can chose a soap that is full of minerals.
You can look for soap with sea salt, Himalayan crystal salt, which has 84 minerals in it, Dead Sea salt, which has really high levels of some of our most essential minerals. The options are endless.
You can find all of these contained in soaps, or if you have a soap that works well for you already and is not harmful to your body there are some other ways that you can nourish your skin in combination with you soap already.
Have you ever heard of sea salt body scrubs, or sea salt hand scrubs? If you apply salt to the skin with a little moisture and move it around in a circular motion you will gradually see new skin revealing itself to you from underneath the old. This is exactly what you want. Through that new layer your skin can drink in the minerals offered from the salt.
So as you can see there a lot of options to choose from when deciding on your beauty regimen. Just be aware that you are not taking in anything that will be bad for you in the long run and that you are always using products that offer long-lasting benefits.
